The Ulster Gundog League held an Open Stake for any variety setter and pointers at Slieveanorra on Saturday 3rd October 2009. The judges were Michael Houston and **********. The weather was mostly dry, the main feature being the wind. Since I wasn’t there I couldn’t measure it but the term “Gale force” was bandied about. Grouse and the odd snipe showed regularly during the day and by all accounts it was an enjoyable day on the hill.
