In the past I never had qualms about removing a sub standard dog from the kennel but there were a number of times that I kept a dog with promise that didn't fulfill it. It isn't a change of attitude towards the dogs more a realisation that with ever reducing training resourses the chances of completing the training of a dog are less and less and each extra dog you have in your kennel means less time per head when in fact they now need more time each.

"I am now quite capable of selling a good prospect if there’s more than my limit of six and I won’t blink at the thought of moving on a sub standard dog"

Is this a change in your relationship with the dogs? do you still have personal favourites, or can you make purely performance based choices? - from previous writing i guess you're looking forward to seeing Basso again?

cheers, Iain
